And So This is Xmas...
Dodgy jumpers, over indulgence and mad friends you haven't seen in ages... don't ya just love Xmas? The abundance of wicked club nights is possibly one of the best things about Xmas... Thriller Funk, Metalheadz, Co-op, Spectrum... (you what??). I made it down to Thriller Funk at Herbal which started the festive season rolling with Skream, SLT Mob, Search and Destroy and J Da Flex on the decks. All of them absolutely smacked it and for once the Herbal sound system (despite the few minor technical issues) sounded so heavy that even the glasses were dancing.
The legendary but elusive Spectrum (we're talking 4 nights a year) @The Black Sheep Bar in the beautiful town of Croydon happened last night and brightened up a winters night with 2 of DnB's most infamous names around F-f-f-fresh and the bad bwoy Bailey. Spectrum resident Skope warmed the crowd up for Mr Bailey, who as always carved a wicked set, hitting with some dubwise styles and side serving of Amen for all those in the know. Fresh did his usual boing boing thing which went down a treat with the kids but had the grown-ups grimacing in the corner reminiscing about the old Jungle days when 'Jump Up' was a whole different ball game (apparantly).
Speaking of which, Good Luck to Palace today (not that they'll need it).
